Buddyhead is back
Back before there was a million music blogs, Los Angeles-based Buddyhead was blazing new ground and turning heads with its controversial, take-no-prisoners writing style. Started by photographer Travis Keller and musician Aaron North (Jubilee, The Icarus Line and Nine Inch Nails) in 1997, the site has been basically inactive over the past few years while Keller and North focused on other projects. Best known for its no-holds-barred reviews, rules of rock, unconventional interviews and notorious gossip section, Buddyhead has finally started cranking out material again. Although other sites have tried to bite its style, no one has really pulled it off. Keller talks to L.A. Times writer Erin Broadley about turning down $12 million during the peak of the site’s fame, why most music sites are lame and Buddyhead 2.0.
