Bill Cosby Presents The Cosnarati: State of Emergency
WHILE most of us probably thought Bill Cosby was eating pudding pops and counting his cash in retirement, we were wrong. Along with writing a new book, Come On People: On the Path from Victims to Victors, everyone’s favourite dad from the SSRq80s has enlisted Alicia Keys, LL Cool J and Eric Clapton to help him put together Bill Cosby Presents The Cosnarati: State of Emergency.
Believing that modern hip-hop promotes violence, bad language and sexism, the comedian hopes to offer a more family-friendly version of hip-hop. “You’re not going to curse. You’re not going to put women down. You’re not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere,” says Cosby, explaining the ground rules for the songs. “And you’re not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that’s the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better.”
Cosby is doing a full-court press on social-media tools like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and Ustream.TV. The whole album is also streaming on demand on his own website.
While it’s great that Cosby is concerned about what kids are listening to, someone should have bought him albums by The Roots, KRS One, Mos Def, Run DMC or even the Black Eyed Peas or Will Smith before he offered up his skewed analysis of the genre.
THE cast of Seinfeld has been appearing on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO this season, and while it isn’t the full-blown prime-time reunion diehard fans were probably hoping for, it will probably be the only chance you get see the Seinfeld folks in action again. If that just isn’t enough, this supercut of all of Kramer’s entrances over the years should satisfy your Seinfeld cravings.
