WITH the iPad set to hit the shelves in Canada in late April, the buzz surrounding its launch is only going to intensify over the next month and a half. The delivery date for iPad is finally confirmed in the U.S., so eager Apple addicts south of the border can already start to preorder the device. This also means that more information and hands-on testing of Apple’s newest device is going to start to show up on the web on sites like Engadget, Gizmodo and iPad in Canada.
If you are an early adopter who can’t wait to get your hands on a device (or you’re skeptical about really needing one), the iPad in Canada blog should provide plenty of insight into the multimedia-driven device. Although it is too early to tell if the iPad is the revolutionary device that Steve Jobs claims it is, you can bet Apple will have a hard time keeping up with the demand.
WITH ABC’s Lost in its final season, TV.com takes a look at the five types of fans who make up the show’s diverse fan base, from the power-discer, who only catches up on the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 during marathon sessions in sweats in front of his new HD television, to the hardcore super fan who spends every free moment between episodes reading blogs and trying to decipher clues from the show, to the Eternally Confused and Faithful fan who has no clue in what’s going and doesn’t seem to mind.
“These fans, which appear to be a middle-of-the-road majority, freely admit that they are confused by what’s going on — but they don’t care” writes Tim Surette. “Loyal to the program and filled with faith that everything will come around eventually, they don’t mind that the show’s questions are answered with more questions, because ‘OMG did you see that last cliffhanger?’
“These are fans who simply take the show for what it is: quality television entertainment. No conspiracy theories, no real annoying habits, just fans of good moving pictures.”
