MyWinnipeg.com - December 11/08

It’s going to be extremely cold the next few days, but that shouldn’t stop you from heading out to see power-metal Guitar Hero gods, DragonForce, Chicago house DJs, Santiago and Bushido, or from going for a skate with Co-op and Hunnicutt at Soul on Ice at The Forks.

Friday

Symptom Technologies’ 12 Year Anniversary Party
w/ Santiago and Bushido, Romeo Kardec, Mikhail, Sisk and nine local DJs
Event Exchange Centre (both rooms)
291 Bannatyne Ave
$20 in advance

It is hard to measure the impact that Symptom Technologies has had on the local electronic music scene. The longest-running promotion crew in the province, they have been responsible for some of the most influential electronic music events over the past 12 years. Never afraid to look ahead of trends, they were able to introduce acts like Detroit’s Matthew Dear and Montreal’s Tiga to the prairies before their careers exploded internationally. They also embraced electronic music’s rich history, booking Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson and English house maverick Eddie Richards over the years.

To celebrate the past 12 years of events, Symptom are bringing in forward thinking fidget house DJs, Santiago and Bushido, along with Winnipeg favorites Romeo Kardec, Mikhail and Sisk. The whole Symptom DJ crew will also take to the stage in what will likely be one of the best electronic music events of the year.
