Shout Out Out Out Out - Reintegration Time (Normals Welcome)

Shout Out Out Out Out / Reintegration Time (Normals Welcome)
IT’S been three years since Edmonton’s Shout Out Out Out Out burst onto the music scene with their unique twist on vocoder-heavy post-rock meets tweaked-out synthetic workouts. While the six-member group still kicks out handmade reverse-engineered electro-house jams that blur the lines between humans and machines, Reintegration Time doesn’t have the same urgency of their sweaty, propulsive live shows.
But don’t hold that against them. Tracks like Remind Me in Dark Times, Bad Choices, Guilt Trips Sink Ships and Coming Home (featuring Edmonton MC Cadence Weapon on the mic) still sound like SO4-style acid synth rave-ups, but with the big-room intensity they’re known for dialled down a notch.
You can bet they’ll have their pawn-shop electronics, bass guitars and amps cranked up to 11 when they play the Pyramid on April 22 with Calgary’s Smalltown DJs.
3 1/2 stars out of five.
