"I don’t have to play the fucking shit that everyone else is playing because I took a chance early on. You take a chance and you keep riding that long enough, people will take notice. Then you have the ability to do what you want. You have your own crowd that comes to see you do what you do. That’s what you want as a band, as a DJ or as a performer. What are you going to do, go up there and tell knock-knock jokes? No, you want to be George Carlin, you want to be fucking Chris Rock. Some DJs are Dane Cook, some DJs are fucking Eddie Murphy. I don’t want to see 900 fucking Dane Cooks up on stage. You know what I mean? The thing that scares me is that people aren’t playing enough attention to that I think. It’s not like you can just get up there and play whatever the hell you want and people are going to love it, you gotta get to that point."
